The difference between an ordinary marriage and an extraordinary marriage
is in giving just a little extra every day, as often as possible, for as long
as we both shall live. -F. Weaver
I was delighted to find out this beautiful couple met way back in middle school…after all, I love a good lifelong love story. Sarah* and Dave* met through their mutual friend when their soccer teams shared a field, and then they re-connected in high school. “We dated for a few months, spent a lot of time on AIM chat, but we eventually broke up”, explains Sarah*, “But, with the help of Cindy* (a bridesmaid), we met back up the summer before our senior year in college, and started dating. After dating long distance for two years, he moved to be closer, and we moved in together.” In 2015, on a fun vacation with friends, Dave* asked Sarah* to marry him on a gorgeous stretch of beach in the Dominican Republic. “We sat on the beach after taking photos of the sunset”, she explained, “and then he reached in his pocked and pulled out a ring! It was great, because we had the rest of the week there to celebrate with our friends!”
Planning their wedding proved a little trickier, as they wanted something that was low-stress and not high-pressure. The pair knew they wanted to incorporate their love of the outdoors, and once they spotted a beautiful yellow for the bridesmaid dresses, that solidified their color scheme. Most of all, they wanted an evening filled with fun and plenty of laughter, that their friends would remember for years to come. That was exactly what their wedding day felt like, with just under 100 guests present for their vows. I was very honored to be a part of this event, and wish these two nothing but years and years of happiness and love!
