“Mothers and their children are in a category all their own. There’s no bond so strong in the
entire world. No love so instantaneous and forgiving.” -G. Tsukiyama
Back in November, we took a trip to Oklahoma. When I married my husband, I also married into a family who are huge Oklahoma Sooners fans, so it was a natural Christmas present to gift him some special tickets. I was able to secure tickets to his very first OU game in Norman, which was pretty thrilling for him! Of course, he had been to previous games, but not in what the diehard fans term the “motherland”. We went to the game with his family, and I think my gift was a definitely a hit. We all had such a fun time, and it was a real bonding experience (in the best way) for all of us, and a memory we will all treasure.
During that same trip, my sister-in law Caitlyn was expecting, so I offered to do her maternity photos. Expecting a baby is such a magical and irreplaceable time, so I’m so glad she agreed to allow me to step behind the lens during our family trip. We did these photos on a relative’s land, and although it was chilly, it was so beautiful and really captured some of the amazing views from Oklahoma. Caitlyn didn’t flinch at the cold, and was a trooper (you’d never know the temps were so low judging from her sweet smile). As you can see, this pair is eagerly awaiting the birth of their little one, and they love each other so beautifully…this baby will be so, so blessed to have such engaged and kind parents. They also have a sense of humor, which you can see below, another important quality for anyone about to enter the sleepless, fun, and joyous journey of parenting.
Caitlyn, thank you for allowing me to capture this incredible time for you! You will make such a great mom!
