When I meet with brides to help plan out their dream day, sometimes they mention ways they want to include their family, their friends, or mementos of loves ones who have passed away. I love incorporating details that help tell the story of your lives, and there is one detail that many couples mention: their beloved pets! Yes, dogs can be such an integral part of your life, that it makes sense that you’d want to include them in your big day. That’s where the idea for this styled shoot came from, along with creating something that would bring joy from a difficult scenario. After all, what is more joyful than a handful of darling, wiggling puppies?
This shoot wouldn’t have happened without the amazing Rackel Gehlsen, who planned out a session based around a “puppy bouquet”! Raemie and Aaron had just begun planning their wedding, when a hurricane devastated their day and location in Peurto Rico. Shortly after, Aaron was deployed, and their dog had puppies. So, Rackel explained on her Facebook page, “This was where your wedding planner steps in! There needed to be a bright moment, something that would capture the happiness and the true beauty and love of all the blessings in this time of uncertainty…and this is where my idea of a puppy bouquet shoot came to be. This was a moment that will be preserved for all time! A memory of beauty, happiness, and the true essence of unconditional love. This is just the beginning of your wedding celebration Raemie & Aaron! Puerto Rico 2019!” It was a wonderful to celebrate a difficult time, and to look ahead to the future Raemie and Aaron have ahead of them. I know their wedding day will be beautiful, even though the timeline shifted a little bit, and that they will look back on this images and know how strong their love was through it all.
After this delightful day, we were so pleased to discover we had also been featured on the Instagram pages of Style Me Pretty, Hayley Paige, and Hayley Paige Occasions.
